Recognized by Wine Business Monthly as a 2023 Wine Industry Leader, Deborah Parker Wong, DipWSET is global wine editor for the SOMM Journal and contributor to sister publication The Tasting Panel magazine. She has been writing about the beverage alcohol industry for these and other outlets since 2004. In 2020 she was appointed National Editor, USA for the Slow Wine Guide which is now in its ninth edition. Deborah teaches wine studies at San Jose State University, Santa Rosa Junior College and Cabrillo College, and owns a Wine & Spirit Education Trust school offering Level 2 and Level 3 certifications. In addition to writing and speaking about wine, in 2025 she completed a Master of Science degree in Viticulture and Enology at California State University, Fresno with an emphasis in sensory science.
